Fitting bikes without using pannier racks:The Longrangers will fit many bikes without having to use a pannier rack so you can keep your bike narrow for filtering and the weight close to the centre. Take care with the hot exhaust, you may need to use a heat shield to keep the pannier and/or straps from touching any part of the exhaust. Bikes that should be OK without a rack include: G650GS690 / 701 EnduroXT660Z Ténéré640 Enduro / 640 AdventureXT660950SE990 Adventure990 SMTXRV 650 Africa TwinDR 650KLR 650Royal EnfieldFor bikes that don't have much bodywork at the rear then racks are recommended, eg Tiger XC, F800GS etc. You may also need to use additional straps depending upon the overall width but they can be secured to almost all racks.I've used these myself on a 990 Adventure and they will fit onto the KTM/touratech racks but I prefer to use them without to keep it light and narrow. They're also much quicker to remove, just four clips and you can lift them off and into your tent or hotel.
